Wellness checks
What it is
A wellness check is a relaxed, hands-on look at your pet when they are well. We check weight, teeth, eyes, ears, skin, heart, lungs and joints, and talk through diet, behaviour and anything you have noticed at home. Catching small changes early is the easiest way to keep pets healthy for longer.
When your pet needs it
- Once a year for most adult pets
- Twice a year for pets over 8, or rabbits and birds who hide illness well
- When you have just adopted a new pet
- Before starting a new diet or exercise plan
What to expect
- Step 1: Say helloWe give your pet a few minutes to settle and sniff around the room.
- Step 2: Nose to tailYour vet does a full physical exam and explains what they are checking as they go.
- Step 3: Talk it throughWe ask about eating, drinking, toilet habits and behaviour, and answer your questions.
- Step 4: A simple planYou leave with a written summary and any reminders, sent by email the same day.
