For dogs
Chocolate (especially dark), grapes, raisins, sultanas and currants, xylitol (a sweetener in some gum and peanut butters), onions, garlic, leeks, macadamia nuts and cooked bones.
Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure even in small amounts, and there's no known safe dose.
For cats
All parts of the lily plant, including pollen and vase water. Also paracetamol, ibuprofen, onions, garlic and essential oils used in diffusers.
If your cat brushes against lilies and gets pollen on their fur, wipe it off and call us.
For rabbits, birds and small pets
Avocado is toxic to birds and rabbits. Chocolate, caffeine, alcohol and salty snacks are dangerous for every species.
Fumes from non-stick pans heated very high can be fatal to birds. Keep birds well away from the kitchen.
